Botanic Garden, a Day Trip

Hello Glamistas, happy day before Friday! :) Hope you have been having a glamorous week. Today I wanted to share with you one of my favorite places in Washington DC, the United States Botanic Garden.

Why is is my favorite place? Because it seems peaceful, you are surrounded by beautiful plants, blooming orchids and the water fountains provide soothing sounds in opposite to what's outside. I like taking it all in and remind myself how fortunate we are to have it at our disposal.

If you are every in the area and would like to check it out, the garden is located on 100 Maryland Ave SW, Washington, DC 20024, right by the US Capitol building and in close proximity to many metro stations.

Admission is free and the garden is open every day of the year. There is an indoor and outdoor area, both have beautiful water features.
The botanic garden in DC was established by Congress in 1820 and is one of the oldest in North America.

The website provides a calendar of blooming flowers and plants, so you know what to expect when you visit.

I enjoy sitting in the outside garden as well as inside by the fountain, taking in all the plants and sounds. If you are ever in the area you have to check it out, it will provide a nice break from a busy schedule many of us keep when visiting new places.

I hope you enjoyed my shots and will check it out when you have a chance. What are some of your favorite places in your city? Do you have any particular favorites in the DC metro area? Please share in the comments section and don't forget to subscribe!
